John and Kate's reality show is scary because there are kids involved. No one will know the impact of this show on the kids until years down the road. However, how can the couple quit the show since it is how they are making a living. It is horrifying hear about what is going on with the two of them. Where is there santuary of peace to try to work this out.

Laura Ling in Prison North Korea

This is a tragic situation. It reminds me of Roxana Saberi who was recently released from Iran. Hopefully Laura Ling will be freed North Korea just as Saberi was freed from Iran.
Why has this type of situation happened twice in the last several months? Is there a connection?
If they were in North Korea, illegally, then I guess that adds complexity to this situation. It also makes me wonder what were the specific circumstances around them going into North Korea.

Presiden Obama and Tax Payer Dollars

The Obamas are frequently recorded going on date nights. Recently they had a date night in New York and one in Paris. I have heard criticism as to why are we the taxpayers footing the bill for their date nights. After all, for the Obamas to go to New York, it was 2 plane rides plus security for them to get there, which cost about $70,000. Because Barak Obama is the President of the United States, I think this was fine. My understanding is that he is a President that gets more threats than any other Presidents have gotten in the past. Also, I just cannot believe that some are suggesting that the Obamas should come out of pocket for these trips. Both of them basically work 24 hours a day. President Obama is on call 24/7. First Lady Obama, has a huge job that she does not get paid to do. People should cut them some slack.

President Bush vacationed quite a bit while President. Did anyone ask him to pay for his flight?

GM Bankruptcy

I am concerned about the GM and Chrysler Bankruptcy. It means that our country is getting ready to go through another round of job cuts. It scares me to see what state we will end up in as the USA. I don't understand why they don't drop the price of cars some more. I don't agree with the fact that people won't buy cars from a bankrupt company. I would have strongly considered it if I thought the price of the cars where still not over inflated. Cars seem to be becoming a luxury item for many people. I used to hope that GM would not have to go through bankruptcy,but it now seems that it was definitely inevitable.

Obama and the Apology Circuit

Some say that Obama has been apologizing a lot has he speaks to foreign nations. What it seems like to me is that he does not always apologizes but does acknowledge that the US may not have always made the best choices. I think this is healing for the nations. For the prior 8 years the US reputation was destroyed by the Bush administration. It was horrifying to see it occuring slowly over 8 years.

High Prices

Prices on many things are getting ridiculous. The prices on going to the movies seem to go up about .25 cents every 6 months. Who can afford to go to the movies these days?
